SCHOOL leaders have been praised for their 'unfailing pursuit of excellence' in a glowing Ofsted report.
Sandford Primary was rated as ‘outstanding’ by inspectors following a visit in April, with praise lavished on the headteacher and governors for their leadership.
Sandford’s inspection report said ‘pupils are motivated, enthused and inspired in their learning by the outstanding quality of teaching’, and praised the curriculum for offering ‘memorable experiences and rich learning opportunities’.
Inspectors continued: “All teachers and other adults working with pupils have the highest expectations of what they can achieve and that pupils respond with equal enthusiasm in their learning. This encourages them to achieve and progress extremely well in lessons.
“Teaching throughout the school is never less than good and much is outstanding.
“(Governors’) commitment is unstinting, as is the way in which they support and challenge the headteacher to ensure that the school provides the best education possible for each child.”
Headteacher Lin Williams said: “I would like to express my sincere thanks to our fantastic staff, wonderful governors, hard-working PTA, supportive parents and of course, our amazing pupils, who make Sandford what it is: an outstanding school.
“We are very proud of our Sandford family.”
