MP JOHN Penrose dropped in to Burrington Primary School to see plans to expand it.

The school in Fry’s Lane hopes to add a £110,000 extension which will form a new reception classroom and visitors’ office.

A planning application will be handed in to North Somerset Council later this year.

Pupils also dressed up to raise £75 for UNICEF, the children’s charity formed to protect youngsters across the world.

Mr Penrose said: “It’s great to see a school right at the heart of the community raising money for UNICEF and building for the future.”
