A NORTH Somerset school is celebrating the appointment of its new junior school head teacher.

Claire Lilley is a 37-year-old Cambridge graduate and has been selected as the junior school head of Sidcot School, in Oakridge Lane, Winscombe.

Claire said: “I am delighted to have been appointed to the post and look forward to further enriching the life of Sidcot Junior School.

“Although I am not a Quaker, I see how the Quaker ethos contributes something very special to every aspect of life in the junior school.

“As a working mother of a six-year-old daughter, I appreciate wraparound care for busy families. I am really looking forward to the challenge and rewards of my new role and leading a great team of dedicated and inspiring teachers.”

Claire will be working with the new head of the whole of Sidcot School, Iain Kilpatrick, who took up his post in August.
