A group of Worle schoolchildren were involved in a fake evacuation on Tuesday, to give them a taste of what life was like for youngsters living during World War Two.

Year five and six children from Becket Primary School, in Tavistock Road, were all involved in Operation Pied Piper.

They dressed in clothes children would have worn in 1939-1945, including flat caps, and carried tags and suitcases with their names on.

After a train journey to Yatton Railway Station, the 60 youngsters were greeted by members of the Royal British Legion and a host of vintage cars.
