A WESTON school is likely to shut its doors on April 30 so that it can make the transformation into an academy.

North Somerset Council executive member for education, Councillor Jeremy Blatchford, is due to sign off the decision about Wyvern Community School.

The school would then reopen the next day, May 1, as the Hans Price Academy.

The council’s executive approved the very temporary closure of the site earlier this year, but in July independent academy managers, Cabot Learning Federation Board, asked for the opening date to be delayed.
