A NORTH Somerset School last week scooped a prestigious national award recognising the efforts of staff and pupils at music.

Sidcot School was awarded the national music prize at the business education awards held at the Emirates Stadium in London on November 10, and the school’s director of music, Bev King, was handed the award by former BBC newsreader Moira Stuart OBE.

Acting headteacher Elizabeth Burgess said: “This is a triumphant achievement, which acknowledges the commitment, dedication and hard work all our pupils put into the many and varied musical performances and productions Sidcot holds throughout the year.”
