Schoolchildren in disability workshop
PUBLISHED: 11:00 29 January 2015
STAFF and pupils at Corpus Christi Primary School took part in Disability Awareness Week.
The pupils got involved in activities which challenged their thinking and everyday skills.
They tried writing with their mouths and feet, experiencing life in a wheelchair, doing activities with only one hand and playing wheelchair basketball.
Some inspiring guests came to the school, including Fran Williamson, a Paralympic swimmer who has cerebral palsy, Frank Lech, a teacher with no arms who peeled potatoes with his feet in the assembly, Dave Thraves who is a paraplegic and tetraplegic, and Weston the guide dog in training.
