Schoolgirl’s smoking success

AN ARTY 11-year-old schoolgirl has scooped top position for her creative efforts.

On Tuesday NHS North Somerset announced that Bethany Phillips had the winning poster design for the Political X-Factor, which supports the idea of banning smoking in public places as part of Democracy Week.

Schoolchildren across the region were asked to put forward their arguments for the ban by individually designing posters with artwork and messages to support their view.

The year six pupil at Castle Batch Primary School in Worle won gift vouchers which were presented by health improvement specialist at NHS North Somerset, Miriam Thornton.
