WORLE Community School students paid their respects to the fallen in a number of ways on November 11.
As part of the Armistice Day commemorations, pupils created a poppy-shaped poem and a parade was also held at the Redwing Drive site.
* At St Mark’s Primary School pupils also recognised Armistice Day by organising the selling of Help for Heroes bands. More than �355 was raised for the charity, which helps those in the armed forces and their families.
Children, staff, parents and grandparents attended the remembrance service at the St Marks Road school and, following the playing of the last post, a minute’s silence was held at 11am.
Prayers, attached to helium ballons, were read by the children and at the end of the service they were released.
