CHILDREN have been trying out clay pigeon shooting, archery and caving with the scouts.

The 1st Ashcombe Scouts and 3rd Weston-super-Mare (St Paul’s) Scouts visited Chelwood Scout Campsite to take part in a county shooting competition, trying out clay pigeon shooting, archery, air pistol and rifle shooting.

They also visited Burrington Coombe to try caving. Group scout leader Diane Biddulph said: “They got kitted up and had an enjoyable time exploring the caves. They came out happy but a little bit muddy.”
