MORE than 60 pupils from a North Somerset school cycled from Pill to Bristol to visit the SS Great Britain.

The children from years five and six at Crockerne Primary School were accompanied by teachers and parents for the ride along the Avon Cycle Path.

The trip was planned as part of the pupils' work on the Victorians and also helped to promote the school's healthy school status.

Headteacher Lara Furmidge said: "I am keen to thank the entire team at the SS Great Britain.

"Without their support the trip would never have been possible.

"As this went so well we are planning other possible cycle trips using the cycle path next term.
