A SINGER from a popular American R&B group visited Kewstoke Primary School pupils on Monday.
Soul singer Michael Williams, from The Drifters, popped into practice with the students before they perform with the band at The Playhouse theatre next month.
The children, from years three-six, will be singing the chorus to some of the bands top tunes on June 10.
Since 1953, more than 65 vocalists have performed as part of the group, including icons such as Clyde McPhatter, Ben E King and Rudy Lewis.
During this time, the only constant has been the Treadwell family, who founded the group back in 1953 and who still own the group to this day.
A spokesman for the band said: “Michael was chosen by the Treadwells six years ago for his resemblance to the Thrasher Brothers, for his beautiful tenor voice and his R&B influenced vocals, which epitomise the original Drifters sound.”
