STUDENTS at Churchill Academy and Sxith Form have been voting to create a new sixth form council.

Liz Smillie, aged 16, will take on the role of president. She will be supported by Ella Burchill, aged 16, and Stephen Bungay, aged 17.

The council will address students’ concerns and organise parties and social events.

Liz said: “We want to build on suggestions made by other students and give sixth formers a voice.”

Ella added: “We want to be part of a group which makes sixth form life as enjoyable as possible.”

Stephen said: “We also hope this opportunity will give us precious leadership skills.”
