Somerset Schools take part in Folk Dance Festival

MORE than 1,400 primary school children will come together to dance the day away as part of the annual Folk Dance Festival.

The festival is being held on Saturday and has more than 70 schools participating, including Burnham Infants School, St Joseph’s Primary School, St Andrews Junior School, Lympsham First School, Mark First School and Wedmore First School Academy.

Pupils will be dressed in their specially-designed costumes and each school will be represented by its own banner. The procession will start at St Cuthbert’s Church, in Wells, at 2pm and will proceed up the High Street to the Cathedral Green.
