Sparkles Nursery, in the Boulevard, opened in 2014, and the open day was its first since then.

Nursery manager Katrina Mcleer said: “We wanted to celebrate our ‘good’ result from Ofsted and show off our beautiful nursery to its full potential.

“Our families who visited stayed and played with their children and interacted with the staff who attended.”

The celebrations included a visit by Pepper Pig and George Pig, and visitors also tucked into homemade cream teas.

Oftsed said the nursery prepares children well for learning in the future.
