TALENTED young archers have received a trophy in recognition of their enthusiasm for the sport.

Pupils from St Anne’s Primary School, in Hewish, took part in the school games archery competition at Worle Community School.

The team finished fourth in the competition overall, but were given a special prize in recognition of their spirited efforts.

A spokesman for the school said: “A team of two boys and two girls had to shoot arrows at different targets to score points individually, which were then added together to give an overall score. Year five pupil Finlay Clemons achieved the highest boys’ score in the competition.

“The children worked well as a team and showed great support and encouragement to each other. They were rewarded with the Passion Cup for these kind efforts.”
