The emergency services paid a visit to a North Somerset primary school to educate youngsters on their life-saving work.

St Anne’s Primary School, which has campuses in Hewish and West Wick, held a safety awareness week.

The school welcomed the RNLI, Great Western Air Ambulance, Avon and Somerset Constabulary and Avon Fire and Rescue Service, with the children given an insight into their work.

School administrator Sharon Lee said: “Children and staff had an amazing time learning how to be safe in a variety of situations during the safety awareness week.

“The aim of the week was to promote the spiritual,
emotional and physical wellbeing of everyone in our school and we are really impressed with the impact it has had.

“It was definitely an exciting memorable learning experience for all the students and staff.”
