Archant

A North Somerset Primary School has been told it is ‘outstanding’ in some areas by an education watchdog.

St Anne’s Primary School, in Hewish, has received a ‘good’ rating from Ofsted after an inspection in October.

The school, which also has a campus at West Wick, was told its personal development, behaviour, welfare, and early years provisions are reaching the highest standard.

Inspectors also found leadership, teaching and outcomes for pupils were at ‘good’ levels.

Ofsted’s report said: “The headteacher, ably supported by other leaders, provides ambitious leadership and leaders work tirelessly to create a purposeful learning environment across the two school sites.

“Behaviour in and around school is exemplary. Pupils have very positive attitudes to their learning and enjoy all aspects of school life.”

A school spokesman described the report as ‘fantastic’.
