THE walls and buildings at a Weston primary school have been given a vibrant makeover thanks to an up-and-coming street artist.

Staff and pupils at Milton Park Primary School, in Milton Park Road, were delighted when Weston-based graffiti artist JPS painted a trail of his work around the school.

The artwork was organised by the school’s PTA group and includes images of Batman, a girl on a swing held up by heart-shaped balloons, a cat decorated with tiger stripes and a smiling gorilla.

The school artwork display marks the end of a successful year for JPS, whose real name is Jamie Paul Scanlon. He was inspired to create works of street art after visiting Banksy’s exhibition in Bristol in 2009, and has since had his work featured in TV adverts.

JPS’ artwork also featured in a street art trail around Weston in the summer, which coincided with Banksy’s Dismaland exhibition at the former Tropicana site.
