Student's cooking triumph

A YEAR 10 student cooked up a storm in a young chef's competition, winning the chance to cook with a professional.
Chloe Nicholson from The Kings Of Wessex Academy, Cheddar, was the winner of the Rotary Young Chef Competition organised by food technology teacher Arabella Beacham.
The competition was judged by Derek Evans and John Mander from the Mendip Rotary Club, as well as Steve Davey and Keith Allen from the Food Service Centre.
Chloe made a spicy chicken broth and home-made sushi while Ella Davies was highly commended for her stuffed roasted red pepper and trout with orange and almond stuffing.
Miss Beacham said: “I was so proud of our students. Their menus were inspiring, creative and of a very high quality. Well done to them all.”
