BUDDING lawyers from a Somerset school travelled to Cardiff Law Courts to participate in the South West heats of the National Mock Law Trial.

The young lawyers, from years 12 and 13 at Kings of Wessex in Cheddar, performed a variety of court roles in two cases, but due to fierce competition they did not qualify for the nationals.

Court reporter Freya Cumberlidge participated in a separate competition and was successful on the day.

Her entry will now be judged as part of the National Court Reporter competition.
