STUDENTS from Churchill Community School gained a valuable insight into the manufacturing world after a visit to a Somerset wood company.

Pupils in year 10, taking vocational studies, took a trip to Somerlap Forest Products, in Mark, to learn about the industry.

They got to take a peak the saw mill in action and learnt about the business, which makes standard and customised timber garden products from well managed, renewable woodlands.
