THE most talented dancers from Churchill Sixth Form and Academy showcased their best moves at the Young Dancer Of The Year event.

The event took place in the stunning setting of Coombe Lodge in Blagdon and 14 of the school’s year eight to year 13 pupils took part in the event.

Each student performed a solo routine in a style of their choice in the hope of impressing the judges, Lorna Gaines from Jumpin’ Youth Dance Company and Symon Buckley, the head of performing arts.

A school spokesman said: “The talent on display was outstanding yet again and it was such a treat to see the students perform so beautifully in front of proud family and friends.”

Isla Hurst performed a mesmerising solo based on Chinese culture which won her the trophy for young dancer of the year.
