A GROUP of Weston College students were given a rare insight into how the military uses computer war games.
A total of 15 higher education computing students travelled to the City of Bath College for a presentation, which demonstrated the use of popular, commercially-available computer games in military tactical training.
A serving member of the armed forces came from Cranfield University, which specialises in cutting-edge science and technology research, and described how the games were used to train soldiers heading out to dangerous situations.
Foundation degree student, Nelson Katende, said: βIt was quite interesting to find out that computer games are not only for entertainment, but can be very useful in such an important organisation such as the military.β
