s A GROUP of students got to experience the thrills of scuba diving as part of an enrichment programme.

Pupils took part in Weston Dive Club’s ‘try-dive’ scuba sessions at Hutton Moor Leisure Centre, after signing up for the free course.

The dive club’s instructors showed the group the basics of scuba diving over three lessons.

Students who want to take up scuba diving as a hobby, or expand their horizons to enhance their career choices, will now be able to get a discount from the Weston club so they can achieve accredited qualifications.

The college’s activities and sports co-ordinator, Dave Cook, said: “Activities such as the try-dive sessions enable the students to develop by experiencing new situations, meeting new friends and having fun - all within the confines of a safe and positive learning environment.”
