BUDDING young equestrians have been riding to victory in a regional competition.

The school showjumping team at Hugh Sexey Middle School in Blackford competed with 34 other schools at West Wiltshire and won both their classes, in the 80cm and 90cm heights.

Competing against young people up to the age of 19, some from schools with a rich history in horseriding, the team of Katie, Lucy, Emily and Florene more than held their own and will now advance to the national championships, to be held in Milton Keynes in October.
