FOOTBALL academy students at Weston College ended the season on a high when they were presented with certificates by principal Paul Phillips.

Two teams of students qualified to represent the South West at the English Colleges Football Association Ability Counts National Cup Final, where they faced 12 colleges from across the UK.

Weston was the only institution to have two teams qualify for the final at St George’s Park in Staffordshire.

Lecturer in foundation learning Nick Chadwick said: “This prestigious venue was a fantastic stage for our learners to display their footballing skills, teamwork and physical literacy.”
