SHIPHAM Pre-School have raised £3,000 for the school through fundraising this year.

SHIPHAM Preschool has raised £3,000 through fundraising this year.

Staff and parents at the Turnpike Road preschool raised the money through a race night at the community village hall, cake sales, parties and a raffle.

Fundraising has had to be a main focus for the school after its budget was reduced by £5,000.

Chairman Liz Hallett said: “Shipham is only a small village, but we are very lucky to have such an amazing preschool.

“It has the benefit of being on the same site as Shipham First School which helps the children make the transition to ‘big school’ very smoothly.

“We are able to use all their facilities including the playground and large playing field plus all their wonderful outdoor equipment.”

Over the summer the preschool will be holding a series of drop-in stay and play sessions to help parents.

They will take place on August 3, 17 and 31 from 10am to noon and costs £3 per family, which includes refreshments.
