A SUMMER Reading Challenge will begin in North Somerset libraries from Monday.

The theme of the event is circus and performance and is aimed at children aged from four to 12 and their parents or carers.

The event, organised by the Reading Agency in conjunction with North Somerset Council, ends on September 18 and kids will receive a membership card, a bookmark and their own pop-up stage with stickers to collect.

Every child who completes the challenge will also be entered into a prize draw to win one of three family tickets to the Aladdin pantomime at The Playhouse in Weston.
