Teaching assistant could be through to national competition finals

A TEACHING assistant from Banwell will hear next month if she has made it through to the national finals of a teaching competition.

Carole Bradbury, who has worked for Banwell Primary School for the past 14 years, will find out in June if she will go the national finals of the Pearson Teaching Award.

She has made it through the regional finals of the awards and was assessed on her work at the school by a team of judges on April 24.

She was nominated for the award, which celebrates the best teachers, teaching assistants and headteachers across the country, and if she makes it to the finals will go to London for a special show with the winners announced on BBC2.
