YOUNGSTERS at Portishead Primary School can now start the day with friends by joining the newly launched Breakfast Club.

Parents and carers of children at the school can drop pupils off from 7.45am knowing that they will be given a healthy breakfast and will get to class on time.

The club is run by school staff, Carol Clements and Lynne Overbury, who also run the school's After School Club.

Richard Riordan, co-headteacher said: "We are pleased that we can now offer this facility for parents, giving them more support for flexible working. We are hoping that as time goes on the club will become more popular and parents will see this facility as a real benefit.

"The children enjoy having breakfast with their friends and it gets the day off to a good start.
