The Kings of Wessex Academy achieves 98 per cent pass rate for A-levels

Students at The Kings of Wessex Academy eagerly awaited seeing their A-level exam results today (Thursday) to find out if they got into their chosen universities.

Pupils were ecstatic when they received their results this morning, and the academy achieved a 98 per cent pass rate in A-level results A*-E this year.

Of those results, almost half were A*-B grades.

Eighteen-year-old James Leader achieved four A* grades and will study engineering at the University of Oxford.

He said he was very happy to have received the results he achieved and is looking forward to studying at his chosen university.

Student Archit Singhal got three A* grades and an A and he will go on to study medicine at the Imperial College London.

Anna Collins achieved two A* grades and an A and will also study at the university in London.

She is set to take an undergraduate course in medical biosciences.

Oona Shah, 18, will study biomedical studies at Manchester University after finding out she achieved an A grade and two Bs in her A-level exams.

She said: “I’m really happy and pleased with my results.

“I cannot wait to start my course in Manchester to study a subject I know I will enjoy.”

Headteacher of the academy, Gavin Ball, said: “I am proud of the positive set of results this year group have achieved in my first year at the academy.

“As always, students at Kings have done themselves proud and I wish them every success for their futures.

“I also hope they move forward to their next steps with a sense of pride and determination to achieve and succeed in everything they do. ”
