THE Mercury has a new rival in the shape of an Axbridge school newspaper.
Budding journalists at Axbridge First School have just had their first edition of brand new newspaper the Lamb and Flag published.
School secretary Caroline Clutterbuck, a former freelance journalist, and teacher Beverley Burnett have recruited a team of roving reporters from years three and four to write articles for the newspaper.
The Lamb and Flag, which will be published every term, has already been a great success and local business owners have been asked to sell the 50 pence newspaper in their shops.
