AN 11-YEAR-OLD girl won the first ever student of the week at school.

Emily Croom carried off the prize in front of 240 students in the assembly for thinking of and building a computer in her ICT lesson.

New students at Priory Community School in Queensway Worle can now be stars for the week for outstanding work, which they can achieve for brilliant work, effort or doing something positive and out of the ordinary and using their initiative.

The idea of the weekly award was dreamed up by Rob Berry who is head of the lower school.
