THE achievements of students were recognised at a special awards evening in Weston.

Pupils at at Priory Community School were celebrated during a ceremony at a packed Winter Gardens.

Grand Pier owner Kerry Michael and Weston College Principal Dr Paul Phillips helped to present dozens of awards to students at the school.

Among the winners were Edward Hillman, who achieved 13 A* grades at GCSEs this summer, and Victoria Hudson who achieved 15 A*s.

Other awards were presented for achievements including attendance, sport, charitable work, and work in specialist subjects.
