Weston’s annual Dirigo Film Festival is set for a big return and creative students are being called on to showcase their work.

The festival is organised by University Centre Weston (UCW) students who are studying film and media arts production.

It runs as a competition, which includes categories such as best in the South West, young student short film and best director. The winners’ films will be shown at a special screening at the Arnolfini Centre for Contemporary Arts in Bristol.

All films must be less than 15 minutes long and been completed in the past two years at a school, college or university.

The students must also be aged 16 and over.

UCW student Jessie Clayton, who is co-directing the festival, said: “This is a wonderful opportunity for students. We can’t wait to see the entries.”
