The cross country club from Uphill Primary School is tackling the Weston Super Half to raise money for a new running track.

Twenty pupils from the running club and four teachers will lace up their trainers and take to the streets on Sunday to raise funds for sports facilities at the school.

The school wants to install an all-weather running track to enable pupils to use the facility all year round.

Runners currently use the school field but it gets muddy during the winter and is not always accessible.

To enable the whole school to take part in the fundraiser, pupils will also run a half marathon around the grounds to support the runners.

Teachers Sarah Goode, Lenna Harris, Sasha Allsopp and Gillian Selvey are preparing to take part in the Weston Super Half with the running club.
