A VIKING visited a Weston school to teach pupils about what life was like in the eighth to 11th centuries.

Pupils from year three and year four at Bournville Primary School, in Selworthy Road on Weston’s Bournville estate, took part in the Viking day events at their school.

They were visited by an actor, who dressed up as Hrothgar, wearing authentic clothing to teach them more about that period of history.

They learned more about the tools the Vikings used, what they wore and how they lived.

The pupils were given the chance to dress up as Vikings, and they found out about the weapons the warriors would have used.

They also listened to stories and played games around a fire, as the Vikings would have done.
