Burrington Primary School has received a 'good' Ofsted rating.

A village school is celebrating after Ofsted inspectors noted its pupils 'thrive'.

Burrington Primary School received a good rating following an inspection in May.

The report states: “The Christian ethos pervades all you and the pupils do. There is a caring and aspirational climate that is helping staff and pupils work together effectively.”

Since its last inspection, the school has introduced nursery provision and more outdoor activities and maths challenges for pupils.

Headteacher Alison Waite said: “We are really pleased the very positive Ofsted letter recognises all of the good work happening at the school.

“We have a great team of staff, parents, volunteers and governors at Burrington who all support the children in achieving their best whether academically, in sport or music or socially.

“From our new nursery children to the year six pupils, Ofsted has recognised that pupils thrive at Burrington.”
