Wacky characters head to school for lessons

THE Cat in the Hat and Sherlock homes were just some of the wacky characters who turned up to lessons in Backwell.

Pupils from Fairfield School turned up to school dressed as their favourite book characters to mark World Book Day.

Well-known children's illustrator Marc Vyvyan Jones, whose illustrations include books such as Maurice and Eric's Elephant, also ran workshops for children to teach them about matching pictures to stories.
