Wassailing fun for students

Pupils at Churchill Primary School chose their wassailing king and queen last week.
Children took part in the traditional ‘waking the tree’ ceremony, which involved pouring apple juice on its roots and hanging toast from its branches.
Children then went outside to ‘wake’ the school’s apple trees ready for the new season.
The new king and queen issued a royal decree, stating that everyone deserved an extra playtime that afternoon.
