The benefits of apprenticeships will be promoted by a new ambassador at Weston College.

The college has appointed John Mayer – who runs TaxAssist Accountants in Drove Road – as its first apprenticeship ambassador. John has taken on eight apprentices through the college and will now promote their benefits to both businesses and young people.

He said: “I’m delighted to take on this role as ambassador as I truly believe in the importance of apprenticeships for training the next generation and helping young people take their first steps for a successful future in an industry.

“We specialise in offering advice and support for local small businesses and will certainly be telling them about the benefits of apprenticeship schemes.”
