Scaffolding has gone up outside a Weston hotel which will be turned into a law academy, just days after the purchase was announced.

The Mercury reported Weston College had bought The Arosfa Hotel in Lower Church Road for an undisclosed sum last week.

It is using it, and the Winter Gardens, for a £15million Law and Professional Services Academy.

Contractor Honeyfield Property Services (HPF), has moved in to begin work which will eventually cost £2.8million.

A college spokesman said: “HPF has moved in and is starting to clean out everything, for example items of furniture left in there.”

The spokesman said alterations to the building will begin in the next few weeks.

The Arosfa Hotel had been in Weston since the 1950s.
