Weston school left ‘delighted’ following £1,000 donation

A £1,000 gift to a Weston primary school will give more children the chance to enjoy a residential trip following their summer exams.

Windwhistle Primary School, in Kingsley Road, received the donation from Lions Club of Weston, and will use it to reduce the price of a trip for year six students following their SAT exams in May.

The club raised the four-figure sum during a Christmas collection at a supermarket in December.

Headteacher Lyn Hunt stated: “We are delighted to receive this very generous donation which will enable us to reduce the cost of the year six residential visit to the Isle of Wight and so make it more affordable for our families.”
