Year five and six students at Bournville Primary School have been rehearsing hard for their production of The Golden Ticket, which made its debut last night (Wednesday).

The story is based on the popular Roald Dahl book Charlie And The Chocolate Factory and their second performance will be tonight (Thursday) at 6pm at the school, in Selworthy Road,

The Mercury went along to the dress rehearsal to see the children dressed up as the quirky characters.

The story follows Charlie’s hunt for a golden ticket to win a trip to Willy Wonka’s chocolate factory.

And while it is not all plain sailing, he learns a lot about himself and his family on this amazing adventure.

A spokesman for Bournville Primary School said everyone is ‘very proud’ of how hard the children have worked to put on this production.

They said: “We would like to thank all the staff and children for their hard work.”
