Students from seven primary schools performed together in a singing festival in Weston-super-Mare last week.

Pupils from schools in Worle, Kewstoke, Locking and Locking Castle gathered for the festival at The Playhouse, in High Street.

The songs had a theme on the transition from year six to year seven, with the message to do the best you can and believe in yourself.

Students from Worle and Priory Community Schools also took part, along with North Somerset Centre For Young Musicians’ (NSCYM) tutti ensemble.

The schools involved included Worle Village, Mendip Green, Castle Batch, Locking, St Martin’s and Kewstoke primary schools, along with Herons’ Moor Academy.

Children from Mendip Green Primary put together a dance routine, and there was also music accompaniment by Jim Parfitt and Anne Owen from North Somerset Music Service and NSCYM’s pop and rock centre.
