The review enables schools to promote how they address the challenges they face and helps to encourage best practice.

Windwhistle Primary School, in Kingsley Road, has been selected to feature in the 2017-18 edition.

The review details how the school’s inclusive approach ensures high expectations for all, with quality teaching and excellent pastoral care which provides support for children and families.

Headteacher Lyn Hunt said: “The staff and governors are proud that the quality of provision at Windwhistle has been recognised and celebrated at a national level.

“It is a tribute to the staff team who work so hard to provide the pupils with a high quality and rounded education.”

The review is independent of parliament and the Government and is circulated to more than half a million recipients.
