Items including toothpaste, pens and toys will be gifted to children across the globe this Christmas thanks to youngsters’ donations.

Worlebury Primary School, in Woodspring Avenue, has recently completed its Christmas charity collection for Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child.

Friends of Worlebury PTA and the teaching staff asked each pupil to bring in a much-needed item for a boy or girl aged between two and 14 years old.

Lynsey McKinstry, chairman of the PTA said: “We aimed for two filled shoe boxes per class, one for a boy and one for a girl of a similar age.

“After an overwhelming amount of goods were received, we managed to fill 30 boxes which will go to children most in need all over the world this Christmas.

“A big thank you to the generosity and goodwill of the pupils, teaching staff and most importantly the parents for supporting this wonderful charity.”
