SEVEN talented youngsters took part in the Churchill Music! Young Musician of the Year competition on Monday.

The competition was held at St John’s Church and saw Churchill Academy and Sixth Form students play and sing in front of judges and supporters.

Year 12 pupil Amy Irvine won the top prize for her flute performance.

Jan Murray from Churchill Music! said: “The performances this year were absolutely phenomenal and the winner was thoroughly deserving.

“We’re big supporters of making music available to the area’s young people and our fantastic arrangement with Churchill Academy makes evenings such as this possible.”
