YOUNG performers will be battling it out in Cheddar at the Young Musician of the Year competition.
The Kings of Wessex School music department and the Rotary Club of Mendip have once again joined forces to organise the annual festival of young musical talent.
Auditions were first held last month when 30 youngsters were shortlisted out of 90 for the finals.
There will be entertainment during the intervals with a selection of songs performed by young choir Cheddar Valley Voices.
The children will be playing for the Young Musician of the Year Awards at three age levels - first school, middle school, and the upper school.
The competition takes place in the school hall on March 20 at 6.30pm.
Tickets, priced 4, include refreshments and are available on the door.
